Our colleague Alex Iglesias - researcher in the Dynamics and Control department at IK4-Ideko -  read on 4th February at University of Girona his thesis on new techniques in advanced manufacturing, which presents new methods for improving the prediction and suppression of chatter in milling processes. The research work, “Milling Stability Improvement Through Novel Prediction and Suppression Techniques" presented by Mr. Iglesias proposes improvements in current stability models for milling processes as well as novel experimental techniques to draw up a more accurate profile of the dynamics of the machinery used in this process. Part of his research is related to the HIPPOCAMP project. Congratulations Alex!

Our colleague Qilin Fu (Plasmatrix) has just published his PhD tittled ”High dynamic stiffness nano-structured composites for vibration control: A Study of applications in joint interfaces and machining systems”. The defense was hold on 1st December 2015, in Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm (Sweden). Part of his research is related to the HIPPOCAMP project. Congratulations Dr. Fu!
